7th Annual Asia Communication Awards 2017

Mahindra Comviva, the global leader in providing mobility solutions, has bagged an award at the 7th Annual Asia Communication Awards 2017. The award was given for the Idea Cellular Private Recharge Service, powered by Mahindra Comviva’s PreTUPS ™ in the “Social Contribution” category. While there were many worthy entries in this category, the elegance of Mahindra Comviva’s solution won over the judges. As one judge stated, “Private Recharge “is so pragmatic, so effective, and so easy to implement. It decreases harassment, and increases independence for women. This should become a world initiative.”

West Africa Mobile Awards 2017 (WAMAS)


Mahindra Comviva, the global leader in providing mobility solutions, and Airtel Niger, Niger’s leading mobile operator have won the West Africa Mobile Awards 2017 for Airtel Money service in the Social Impact category. Mahindra Comviva's PalmLeaf wins Golden Peacock Innovation Award 2017

Mahindra Comviva has won the Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service Award – 2017 for PalmLeaf. PalmLeaf is a mobile based micro learning solution which matches learning outcomes with the lifestyle needs of the users. The awards were presented at the IOD India’s “27th World Congress on Business Excellence & Innovation held on 19th April, 2017 in Dubai.

CashlessAfrica Awards 2017

Mahindra Comviva and Econet Wireless have jointly won the CashlessAfrica Awards 2017 in the “Best Low Remittance Provider” Category. EcoCashDiaspora provides Zimbabweans with a robust and safe platform for remitting money. EcoCash Diaspora is powered by Mahindra Comviva’smobiquity® Money platform. The money received in the EcoCash wallet can be used for digital payments or cashing-out at any of the EcoCash agents in Zimbabwe.

GSMA GLOMO Awards 2017

Mahindra Comviva has won the GSMA GLOMO Awards 2017 in the “Best Mobile Payment Solution” category for EcoCash service powered by mobiquity® Money platform. This win is especially significant, as it coincides with our mobiquity® Money’s ten-year milestone. Messaging & SMS World 2016 Awards


Mahindra Comviva’s A2P monetization solution has been adjudged the winner in the “Best A2P SMS Messaging Provider” category. The A2P Messaging solution provides operators with a tiered approach to solve the A2P puzzle. Its holistic approach to A2P messaging helps operators to create new opportunities of revenue enhancement, control leakages in A2P revenues and monetize revenues lost through grey route traffic.

Mahindra Comviva’s Digital Service Management offering has received the Business Service Award at the 11th edition of the annual CommsMEA Awards. This product has been deployed at Ooredoo Kuwait. Mahindra Comviva manages the end-to-end digital services ecosystem for Ooredoo Kuwait, including services procurement, programming and discovery, usage reports and analysis and overall service operations management. The company received two awards in the Consumer Service category. Mahindra Comviva, the global leader in providing mobility solutions has received top honor at the Meffys 2014 Awards. Econet’s EcoCash$ave powered by mobiquity® Money received an award in the Mobile Service category for effectively promoting financial inclusion amongst under-banked Zimbabweans. EcoCash launched EcoCash$ave to address the latent demand for an affordable savings product and to improve cash inflows into the network. Econet’s EcoCash$ave is an easy to use micro-savings product targeted at 3.8 million EcoCash customers. Currently, 1.5 million customers have opened an EcoCash$ave account, outnumbering the total depositors, 900,000, in all commercial banks. Zimbabwe has a national saving rate of 7 per cent, one of the lowest in Africa. Underdeveloped financial infrastructure, high costs to maintain a bank account and unpredictable income streams render it unviable for low-income segments to open a savings account. By launching a simple-to-operate and economical savings product where customers can maintain a minimum balance of $1, EcoCash$ave has managed to capture an untapped source of funds.

Innovation in Consumer Services for the MPOS solution Innovation and excellence in Managed VAS Services Mahindra Comviva has won two major awards at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2014 for the mobile POS (MPOS) solution, launched in collaboration with ICICI Merchant Services and for providing Managed VAS Services to Airtel Africa. The MPOS service allows merchants to accept payments anywhere by converting a smart mobile device (phone/ tablet) into a secure payment terminal. In addition to card payment processing, MPOS extends an enhanced suite of business-enablement services, including cash and cheque acceptance, EMI payments, reconciliation and analytics along with a delivery management system. In the last five years, Mahindra Comviva’s end to end VAS Services capability has yielded positive business outcomes. The biggest impact has been on quality of service. By bringing services under a single SLA and monitoring performance end to end, 90 per cent of faults are detected before a service is impacted, resulting in a more satisfied and loyal customer base. Mahindra Comviva assumes the mantle of a single point of responsibility of managing the Airtel Africa’s complete VAS services portfolio across 17 operating companies.

Innovation in Mobile Payments Innovation in Managed Music Services Mahindra Comviva has won two major awards at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards 2013 for EcoCash mobile payment services to Econet Zimbabwe, powered by its mobiquity® platform and Managed Music services to Airtel Africa ‘Hello Tunes’. Mahindra Comviva’s mobiquity® service enables EcoCash customers to perform remote payments (micro and macro-transactions) using a prepaid stored value account, depending on the geography. Our mobiquity® platform links the customer’s mWallet account to other transactions instruments – credit cards, debit cards and bank accounts. Within 14 months of launch, EcoCash achieved over 2 million customers and 7 million transactions per month. Currently, an approximate 70,000 customers enroll for the service every month. With its Managed Music services, Mahindra Comviva assumes complete responsibility for managing Airtel’s ringback tones business in 9 countries. By combining platform and end-to-end services management – from content sourcing to services marketing – Mahindra Comviva has succeeded in uplifting music revenues for Airtel. Approximately 16% of Airtel customers in 9 countries use CRBT and the service contributes around 14% to their VAS revenues.

The service allows customers to purchase tickets using a prepaid mobile wallet or over-the-counter at an authorized outlet. The GSMA Global Mobile Awards recognise and celebrate all the contributions made to the ever-evolving and developing mobile industry. The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide and also produces industry-leading events such as the Mobile World Congress and Mobile Asia Expo.
